We are a global organization pioneering research and dissemination of digital fabrication infrastructure and expertise. Founded in 2009!
Emerging from MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA) to support the global Fab Lab Network, a growing community of makers, innovators, learners, and educators using digital fabrication technologies. Fab Labs--fabrication laboratories that include capabilities like 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC milling--originated as a community outreach program from CBA.
The Fab Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Boston-based nonprofit with more than 15 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting Fab Labs around the world. Our mission is to provide access to the tools, knowledge, and means to educate, innovate, and invent using technology and digital fabrication. These skills and technologies allow anyone to make almost anything, creating opportunities to improve lives and livelihoods around the world.
